Chef Jeremy, Kitchen Sustainability

What’s Cooking? In addition to great meals, special initiatives have been prepared recently in the Bellarmine kitchen.  While “going green” in the dining areas for some may refer to consuming more vegetables, it also speaks to the school’s efforts to be mindful of sustainability.  That mission is evident in such implementations as using biodegradable napkins and serving utensils and offering cage-free eggs and free-range chicken.  Fair Trade coffee is being served, with coffee grounds and other food waste being used in the Bellarmine Garden for composting and fertilizing.

Bells Make History at CCS

Cross Country

Last night at Gilroy High School, under truly ideal conditions—for distance runners, anyway—the Bells had an historic night in finishing third in the CCS Track and Field finals.  The third place finish was an unprecedented 10th straight finish ‘on the podium’—the top 4 teams earn a trophy and get to stand on the podium—for the Bells, and this year was a big upset as well; prior to the meet, the Bells looked to finish anywhere from 4th to 6th, so 3rd is a testament to the clutch efforts of all who participated.
