Transportation

College Park Transportation

Students from over 100 middle schools around the Bay Area choose to make the commute to Bellarmine, and they do so utilizing a wide variety of transportation options. In recent years, students have come from Santa Cruz, Hollister, Pleasanton, Hayward, San Francisco and all areas in between. The school’s location is less than two miles from Highways 87, 280, 880 and 101.

This page offers information on four transportation options for your family: Carpooling, CalTrain, VTA Bus, and the Bellarmine Bus Program.

More Information About Transportation

  • CARPOOLING

Bellarmine parents are encouraged to carpool whenever possible. Together, we can reduce traffic in the neighborhood plus make new connections in our home communities! Typically, Bellarmine families work with their area reps from the Bellarmine Mothers’ Guild to identify families that live within their geographic area and organize carpools. There are 14 different areas, organized by zip code, covering the 100 zip codes in which Bellarmine students live.

  • CALTRAIN

Train commuters have long been a part of the Bellarmine experience. The train stop at Bellarmine has even been immortalized in the fiction of Jack London and Jack Kerouac! Currently, Caltrain stops at Bellarmine’s College Park Station four times per day.

Caltrain offers close to a 50% discount on daily, monthly and eight-ride tickets for all student riders. With these discounted fares, you might actually save money over the price of gas. Whether you live north or south of Bellarmine, the arrival and departure times allow for plenty of time before and after our daily schedule of classes.

For those students who have after-school commitments, Bellarmine provides free shuttle service which departs from campus each day at 5:20 pm and again at 5:45 pm, taking students to the Diridon Station to catch the train home. Please note this shuttle is only available when school in session. Bellarmine’s administration coordinates with athletic coaches to make sure that practices end early enough for student-athletes to take this shuttle. A full copy of the Caltrain schedule is available online at www.caltrain.com/schedules.

Daily afternoon campus to Caltrain Diridon Station Shuttle:

  • VTA BUS

The Route 22 VTA bus stops at the corner of The Alameda and Taylor/Naglee Streets, which is just a few blocks from Bellarmine. The Route 22 bus also services both the Santa Clara and Diridon train stations. Busses run approximately every fifteen minutes. You can view a copy of this bus schedule online at www.vta.org/routes.
