Saurabh Sharan Intel STS Finalist
Senior Saurabh Sharan was identified as one of forty Intel Science Talent Search (STS) finalists for 2012. For his project, Parameter-Free Graph-Based Nuclear Segmentation in Cellular Images Using Morphological Cues, Saurabh used novel computer algorithms which he wrote to automate previous image segmentation algorithms.

VEX Robotics Tournament Results
Bellarmine's Robotics Team 254 hosted the 4th annual Bay Area VEX Robotics Challenge January 14th. The competition is the largest regional VEX tournament on the west coast, attracting almost four hundred students from fifty-two teams this year.

Four Intel STS Semifinalists Named
Seniors Abrar Choudhury, Nikhil Desai, Saurabh Sharan and James Thomas were among 29 Bay Area students named as semifinalists in the Intel Science Talent Search (STS) on January 11th. Intel STS is the nation's oldest and most prestigious pre-college science competition.
