Cross-Country Bells Take WCAL Championship

Bellarmine’s Cross-Country team earned the WCAL League Championship with a strong end to their season on November 2 at WCAL III held at Crystal Springs in Belmont.

As provided by coach Patrick McCrystle, the results of the November 2 races are as follows:

Level: Frosh
Top Teams Place and Score: 1. SI 47 2. BCP 56 3. Riordan 62, etc. (SI won all three League races, and the Bells finished second in each).
BCP Top 7 Runners with Place in Race: 1. Ben Penzel 6. Kian Sawaya 10. Dylan Connell 18. Dylan Tai 21. Charlie Amend 23. Stephen Sziebert 24. Benjamin Speck

Level: Soph
Top Teams Place and Score: 1. BCP 32 2. St. Francis 42 3. SI 64, etc. (The Sophs win the title, running without their #1, 3, 5, and 7 runners)
BCP Top 7 Runners with Place in Race: 1. Devansh Shah 3. Ryder Reginelli 5. Dane Flores 9. Erik Matlack 14. Anton Matlack 19. Nate Boyer 22. Donovan Cozort

Level: JV
Top Teams Place and Score: 1. BCP 15 (Perfect Score!) 2. SI 80 3. SHC 90, etc.
BCP Top 7 Runners with Place and Score: 1. Sonny Lowe 2. Reed Bodner Cohan 3. Alex Manens 4. Jude Hammers 5. Jonathan Park 6. Tanay Doppalapudi 7. Antonio Robles (BCP had 17 of the first 20 runners in the race!)

Level: Varsity
Top Teams Place and Score: 1. BCP 52 2. SI 60 3. SI 61, etc
. BCP Top 7 Runners with Place and Score: 5. Jack Frida 8. Noa Morashige 12. Shrey Chettiar (soph) 13. Owen Botkin 14. Nathan Petree 15. Ian Knight 21. Dhruva Bhagwat (With one mile to go in the race, the Bells were in 3rd place. With 200 meters to go, Shrey Chettiar went from being the Bells’ 6th man to finishing as our 3rd!)
