Bellarmine alumnus Raymond Wyant ‘19 has been selected to compete at the Carl Nielsen Competition, described as the most well-known, prestigious, clarinet competition in the world.
Raymond is among only 24 clarinet players from around the world – and the only clarinetist selected from the U.S. -- who have been accepted and invited to compete in the 2022 competition, which takes place every three years in Odense, Denmark. In 2019, there were no qualified competitors invited from the United States.
Raymond, the son of Bellarmine faculty member Diane Wyant and former faculty member Frank Wyant, will be representing the United States, USC, and as a Bell alumnus, Bellarmine! This year’s competition takes place March 31-April 10.
