Bellarmine’s annual Spring Food Drive runs from Tuesday, March 20 - Thursday, March 28 and supports Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, and Martha’s Kitchen Food Fight (March 25-April 30). The COVID-19 pandemic, housing crisis, and soaring inflation continues to impact the food and economic security of so many deserving individuals and families in our community. Second Harvest provides food assistance to over 400,000 people each month. Martha’s Kitchen provides nearly 250,000 meals each month. The unhoused, seniors, families, veterans, youth, and many community partners are all recipients of such assistance.

During our Drive this year, we hope to:

  1. Fill barrels at Bellarmine with thousands of pounds of food to help Martha’s Kitchen provide groceries to their clients. See below for what can be dropped off at Bellarmine in the Student Life Center (SLC) (including at special collection days to be announced through April)
  2. Fill a virtual barrel with $2,500 in donations to help ensure that our neighbors counting on Second Harvest will receive the groceries they need
  3. Increase volunteerism at Martha’s Kitchen and Second Harvest Food Bank (and other similar agencies). If you’d like for us to help coordinate a group of volunteers, including athletic teams, clubs, and families—please contact us!
