Alumni Week of Service

Sat Apr 6 - Wed May 22

The Alumni Week of Service is an extension of our Christian Service program and it will provide alumni an opportunity to volunteer with fellow alumni at a local charity. This event brings Bay Area alumni together to provide hands-on service to their communities. Projects will be alumni led and will reflect the diversity of alumni interests and passions. Volunteer opportunities will range in size and include a vast number of alumni from multiple class years . Together, we hope that their impact will be great.

This program is inspired by the actions of Bellarmine alumni and their long tradition of service to others. Throughout the world, Bellarmine alumni are making a difference every day. While one week of service cannot meet every need in every community, bringing all Bay Area alumni together to make a difference can have a substantial impact on both the individuals involved in this shared experience and the greater community. It is our hope that Bellarmine Alumni Week of Service is the start of something even bigger.

Alumni Service Projects

Saturday, April 6, 2019 | 5pm-9pm | 960 West Hedding St., San José, CA 95126

Sacred Heart Nativity School for boys and Our Lady of Grace Nativity School for girls are urban Catholic middle schools. In partnership with the Society of Jesus, the Diocese of San Jose, and the Parish of Sacred Heart, the schools seek to lay the foundation for young women and men to succeed in college prep high school programs, in college, and beyond. The Fiesta is SHNS's biggest annual fundraiser, and it takes place in the Liccardo Center on Bellarmine's campus. This volunteer opportunity includes setting up the bar before the event, tending the bar during the event, and taking down/cleaning up the bar after the event.

Saturday, May 18th, 2019 | 8:30am-1:15pm | Bellarmine Campus

As part of our partnership with Sacred Heart Nativity School, we invite students from Sacred Heart to Bellarmine's campus each year for a day of tutoring, followed by lunch and swimming in the pool. This opportunity calls for help with tutoring basic math and reading comprehension skills, as well as helping with lunch service.
