Ignatian Vocation through Film

Generic 1

Course Description: This course is a systematic exploration of the Ignatian idea of "vocation" as "a personal call from God that promotes the Kingdom of God." The course will be divided into seven sections that examine the idea of vocation within the Roman Catholic theological tradition. Each section will consist of reading articles and excerpts from scholarly sources, watching a popular film that illustrates the articles, and writing a paper that synthesizes 1) the articles; 2) the film; and 3) the student’s own life experiences. The ultimate goal of this course is to prompt, promote, and assist personal reflection concerning one’s "call from God."
