Student Life: Clubs & Organizations

Clubs

There are more than 100 clubs on campus where you can share your interest in culture, service, sports, activism, pop culture, politics, food, math, music ... with your classmates. Have an idea for a new club? Contact Mrs. Simi Patel.

Club Sports

In addition to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) -sponsored sports included under the umbrella of our athletics program, Bellarmine offers students the opportunity to participate in four club sports: ice hockey, roller hockey, rugby and ultimate frisbee. More information about these clubs can be found on the Club Sports page of our Athletics site.

Ice Hockey Moderator: Mr. Alex Sarrett

Roller Hockey Moderators: Mr. Michael Parissenti

Rugby Moderators: Mr. Terry Ryan, Mr. Joe Cussen

Ultimate Frisbee Moderator: Mr. Nick Creech

Intramural Sports

Intramural sports at Bellarmine provide student-athletes an opportunity to be involved in team sports at a less competitive level than if they were part of an Interscholastic Federation or club team. Each year, students compete in touch football, basketball and soccer. Games take place at lunch time, Monday through Thursday.

Moderators: Mr. Chris Colletti, Mr. Wade Tam, Mr. Wil Vargas

Associated Student Body (ASB)

The Associated Student Body is the formal student government of Bellarmine College Preparatory. The council is composed of the ASB Executive Officers (President, Vice President, Spirit Commissioner, Treasurer, Secretary and Communication Commissioner), elected class officers and voluntary members at large. It gathers once a week for Rep Council meetings and once or twice a month for committee meetings. Rep Council meetings are open to the entire student body.

The ASB serves three important functions:

  • organizing and supporting student life on campus through events such as Spirit Week and the night rally, Club Day, the blood drive, The Battle of the Bands and dances
  • acting as the organizing body in charge of club approval and funding
  • serving as the voice of the student body by being a liaison between the students, faculty and administration.

Contact an ASB Rep to bring up a concern or present an idea you have for BCP.

Moderator: Mrs. Simi Patel

Big Brothers

The Big Brother Program is designed to help freshman successfully transition into Bellarmine.  Because Big Brothers are upper classmen, they can identify with any feelings of anxiety and are uniquely qualified to help new students find their place on campus.

Moderator: Mrs. Kathy Shanley

Yell Leaders

Bellarmine has a long and proud tradition of school spirit, as anyone who has attended a Bellarmine sporting event can attest. Our Yell Leaders along with Bellarman, our school mascot, get the cheering going and keep the crowds engaged.

Moderator: Ms. Michelle Toy, Mr. Wil Vargas
