Personal & College Counseling

Students are assigned both a personal counselor and a college counselor to ensure that all counseling needs are met during their four years at Bellarmine.

Personal Counselors

Personal Counselors are assigned when you enter Bellarmine and you will continue with that counselor through out your time at Bellarmine. Your Personal Counselor gets to know you through meetings each semester, advising and guiding you as you move through the various stages of growth as both a young person and a student at Bellarmine. We know that you have much to deal with at Bellarmine and in the larger world. We hope to provide a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere for you to chat about what is important to you. Every counselor is here to guide you as you develop into a young man who will be a happy and effective adult in the world community.

In the second semester of your junior year, you are assigned to a College Counselor who guides you and your family through the college search, college application and decision process.

Like their counterparts in the College Counseling department, the personal counselors utilize Naviance for announcements and for the completion of counseling-related tasks/assignments.

Confidentiality

Your confidentiality is important to us. Information of a personal nature which you disclose in the process of counseling is confidential. We may exercise exceptions to this rule in accordance with California state law, ethics and school policy. Examples where we may breach your confidentiality include reporting of child abuse and neglect, and danger to self or others.
