BUILD
The BUILD program (Bellarmine United in Learning and Diversity) serves low-income middle school students in Silicon Valley. Our program works with students who are striving to be among the first generation in their family to attend college and in many cases, are striving to be the first in their family to graduate from high school.
The program serves middle school students in fifth, sixth and seventh grade and strives to expose students to the academic, social and cultural environment of college preparatory high school. BUILD provides a challenging and supportive environment where students can learn how to succeed academically and socially. BUILD participants are encouraged to consider college preparatory high school as an option.
Summer Program
BUILD participants attend summer school at Bellarmine College Preparatory School and participate in an after school program. The after school program combines academic assistance with life skills sessions provided by high school mentors from Bellarmine and Notre Dame High School.
Cost
This program is funded generously by Bellarmine College Preparatory School. Admitted students will receive a scholarship which covers summer school tuition, books and the after school program.

Who Qualifies?
We encourage applicants from low income families who are striving to be among the first generation in their family to attend college. Applicants must be in their fifth, sixth or seventh grade year.
Please note that every year we have more applicants than spaces available. We strive to offer as many opportunities as possible each year, but holding with the mission of the BUILD program, we award scholarships to families who have the greatest demonstrated financial need. In 2007, the household income level of accepted applicants was targeted at $60,000 or below.
Each year approximately 60 students are admitted into the program.
Is There Transportation?
No, there is no transportation to and from Bellarmine Summer School or BUILD sessions.
