Services for Students with Disabilities

Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) provide access services to Bellarmine College Preparatory’s academic programs for academically qualified students with disabilities. Types of disabilities include medical, physical, psychological, attention-deficit, and learning disabilities. Reasonable accommodations are provided to minimize the effects of a student’s disability and to maximize the potential for success. Students must have current and appropriate documentation to qualify for services. Click here to view a brochure that more fully describes services and qualification requirements.

Contact the SSD Coordinator, for further information regarding documentation requirements and any additional questions.

For additional information about documentation requirements and testing accommodations for College Board exams (PSAT, SAT, AP), visit www.collegeboard.com/ssd/student. For information about accommodations for ACT exams visit www.act.org/aap/disab/

Tutoring Resources

At times students may need additional help with their coursework.  Students are always encouraged to see their teachers first during office hours or by arrangement.  However, if more regular, ongoing 1:1 assistance is required, there are several tutoring options to explore.

  1. Bellarmine Tutorial Society
Students only (no parents) contact Mr. Bill Sullivan in room 113 to request a student subject area tutor.

  2. Online tutoring help is available free through the San Jose Public Library system (1-10 pm daily) and the Santa Clara County Public Library System (1-10 pm daily).  Students must have an active library card number and recorded PIN to access the online system.
