Bellarmine Turns Focus to Hunger for Summit Week

At the Mass of the Holy Spirit, Bellarmine Principal Chris Meyercord offered this challenge to the school community. Jesus said to his disciples, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” Here at Bellarmine, when we end prayers, we often say, “God Bless, and Go Bells!” This year, when we say “go Bells!” – Let’s not just say it as an exclamation – let’s hear it as a command. Let’s remember today’s gospel and Jesus’ words to his disciples, and know that Jesus is calling us to GO, be with, and serve the hungry.

Bellarmine women of all faiths are invited to celebrate a relaxing day of spiritual connection and energy renewal in the redwoods. Please join us at the beautiful Presentation Center located in the hills above Los Gatos.
Our retreat leader, Dominican Sister Joan Prohaska, a nationally-certified Healing Touch Practitioner and Energy Medicine Specialist, will lead us through a day intended to balance our energy and renew body, mind and spirit. Solidarity Dinner a Success

540 people gathered for a simple dinner and an evening of prayer and reflections to learn about Bellarmine’s sister relationship with a rural community in Agua Escondida, El Salvador. Over the last 9 years Bellarmine has been visiting and financially supporting a Kindergarten in Agua Escondida.

Cooking Event at the Professional Culinary Institute
6:00pm - 10:00pm
Come join us for an evening of cooking fun, learning and dining! We'll start the evening with hors h'oeuvres and refreshments, then split into small groups and be off to the commercial kitchens where we will learn some fundamental cooking techniques under the guidance of the professional culinary educators. Together we will enjoy the fruits of our labor, complete with wine specifically chosen to enhance our dining experience. Hope to see you there! Tickets: $90

There is still time for you to join our effort to help address hunger in our community by volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank in San Jose. The remaining dates are now open to all classes, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Bellarmine. March 10, 13, 17 & 20. We encourage you to sign up as a family – siblings age 14 or older are most welcome. This is a wonderful Lenten opportunity to support Bellarmine's Hunger Initiative, culminating with the Hunger Summit, March 15th - 19th.
