About Us
Creative Hearts, The Needlework and Crafts group usually meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at St. Martin of Tours Pastoral Center in San Jose. Please contact us if you are new to the group as dates may change depending upon the month. The group usually does not meet in the summertime or in December.
You may work on your individual projects, and the group has previously donated numerous items to local non-profit groups. Want to learn how to knit or crochet? Join us!

Need to know:
Q. Are there fees to join this group?
A. No
Q. What materials do I need to bring?
A. Bring any needlework project that you are working on. If we are doing a craft, we will send out an email to let everyone know what supplies to bring.
Q. If I've never knitted or crocheted before is there an instructor to show me what to do?
A. Yes and no. We do not have a professional instructor, but we have very talented women in our group. One of us will gladly help anyone who needs it.
Q. Do you do projects other than crocheted or knitted ones? For example, Quilting? Needlepoint? Cross-stitch?
A. Most of our projects are crocheted or knitted ones. Projects that can be done on your lap, due to our meeting location and projects that are durable-machine wash and dry. We have made fleece blankets for Project Linus.
Q. How long are the sessions?
A. We meet from 6:30pm - about 8:30 pm.
Q. I have some projects that I would like to donate. Can I do that through your group?
A. Yes
Q. When you work on a donation project, do I need to use special fabrics or materials? For example, acrylic or cotton only for preemies?
A. Yes. Our infant/preemie projects need to be made of very soft, wash and dry yarns. We try to use soft and wash and dry yarns for all our projects. However, last year we sent scarves to our service men and women and had to use wool and certain colors. It is always best to contact us and we'd be glad to answer any questions regarding your project and materials.
