Past Activities:
Author readings.
Need to Know:
Q. Are there fees to join this group?
A. No, however, if you choose to join us, you need to buy your own books or you can request them from a library.
Q. How are the books selected?
A. In September all members bring 2-3 selections that they recommend; by consensus, we develop the reading list for that season (September-June); hosting members have final right to select a book if we can't decide.
Q. Where are the meetings held? How long do they last? Do I need to host a meeting?
A. We meet each month at a member's home, generally for dinner. Each member is expected to host a meeting once about every 18 months. The meetings generally start at 6:30pm and conclude by 9pm.
Q. Is there a maximum number in the group?
A. We think that 12 members is close to the maximum. However, we certainly welcome those who might want to try us out.
Q. If the meeting is not at my home, do I need to help provide refreshments?
A. No, you only provide refreshments/food when you host.
Q. Who leads the discussion? What is the format?
A. We are a very informal group; the host generally leads the discussion but we have no set structure.
Q. Is the club closed to AMEN members only?
A. Yes, all our members are active AMEN participants.
