  • Stellar Finish for Bells at National Speech & Debate Tournament

    For the past week, DeeDee Sullivan, Ani Prabhu ’16 (assistant coach for policy debate), Xavier Liu ’17 (assistant coach for speech), and Aaron Langerman have led a contingent of Bellarmine speech and debaters through the National Tournament in Dallas, TX. The speech and debaters endured five days of competition in the behemoth Sheraton hotel complex, where thousands of students from across the country waited in Disneyland-sized lines to take the elevators to compete in… hotel rooms.

  • Bellarmine Chancellor Receives Honorary Doctorate

    San Jose, CA – Reverend Gerald T. Wade, S.J., chancellor of Bellarmine College Preparatory, its former president, and an alumnus of the all-boys Jesuit high school, is the recipient of an honorary doctorate degree from Santa Clara University (SCU), given to him at SCU’s 168th Commencement held on June 15, 2019. Friend and Bellarmine colleague, Rev. Richard Cobb, S.J., introduced the honor, with the degree conferred by Rev. Michael Engh, S.J., president of SCU.

  • Team 254 FIRST Championship Finalists

    Team 254 Reaches Finals of FIRST Championship

    Team 254, the Cheesy Poofs, spent the days leading up to spring break participating in the FIRST Championship in Houston, TX. After winning the Turing subdivision, the Poofs moved through round-robin matches to qualify for the championship game. Although they did not win the world championship this year (Team 254 holds four championship titles), the team put forth amazing effort, and represented Bellarmine well, displaying tremendous dedication and sportsmanship throughout the four-day tournament.

  • K-Bell Turns 35

    The 35th annual Kiwanis-Bellarmine track meet, i.e., K-Bell, was held on March 9th at Westmont High School. The joint venture between Bellarmine and the Kiwanis Club of West San Jose has become one of the premiere track and field events in the area, the proceeds of which go entirely to charity.

    Theatre Arts Program Presents Newsies

    Rehearsals are well underway for our Theatre Arts production of Disney’s Newsies, the hit Broadway musical about the Newsboys Strike of 1899, when child labor unionized to demand fairer treatment from the likes of publisher Joseph Pulitzer. Based on the Disney film, the production features songs by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Beauty & the Beast) and Tony-winner Jack Feldman.
