Over the weekend, the Bellarmine Speech & Debate team won the team state championship for the third year in a row after three grueling days of competition at Santa Clara University. By no means was the victory easy: good and old friends Leland High School never let up and at the end, the Bells prevailed by just five points.

Special congratulations go to Policy Debate winners Joe Grimes ’08 and Will Rafey ‘09, International extemp champion the very same Will Rafey, National Extemp champ Evan Larson ‘09, and Advocacy champion Chip Morton ‘08. Seniors Calvin Lee (in his first year of competition in the event) took second in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Stephen Elrod took second in Dramatic Interp. Full results are below.
