The Nick Jones 2010 comedy mocks notions of “manliness” and serves as an allegory for modern American gun mania. In eighteenth-century England, a cowardly young gentleman named Lucidus initiates a pistol duel only to find that he can’t go through with it. He hires a common criminal to fight in his place, only to have the scoundrel make a bloody mess of things.

Performances will be held May 12 - 14 and 18 - 20.

A note from the director: Forty-three auditioned for what turned out to be 11 parts. Believe me when I say this was an agonizing process that took me through a number of permutations: so agonizing that I divvied up the roles to accommodate more folks. You were all considered quite seriously, and I'm grateful for your courage in trying out (not a coward amongst you!) and sharing your talent. Finding the best mix of ability, age and suitability for roles is a subjective and mysterious process. If you’re able, please try out again in future, for the comedy, drama, musical and/or Sanguine Humours.
