Chris Meyercord '88 Officially Accepts Presidency

Posted: July 19, 2016

As Chair of the Board of Trustees, it is a pleasure for me to inform you that Chris Meyercord ’88 has accepted the position of president of Bellarmine College Preparatory, effective immediately.

During the past academic year, it became increasingly clear to the Board of Trustees that Chris possesses the requisite qualities that will serve the school by his presidency well beyond what was originally a two-year interim position, as indicated in a December 2014 communique by my predecessor, Marc Rebboah ’77.

We are very grateful to Chris for having agreed to step into the role at that time, and even more thankful now as he officially becomes the first lay president in the history of the school.

One of the first and most important tasks for Chris will be to hire a principal, a critical position being held on an interim basis by Kristina Luscher who, along with her co-administrators, has been instrumental to the seamless continuity of school leadership. A formal, comprehensive search will begin in September, chaired by Matt Medeiros, the Vice-Chair of the Trustees, with the intent being to announce a decision early in 2017.

Please join me in thanking Chris for his leadership, his commitment to Jesuit education, and his dedication to the family that is Bellarmine.

Respectfully,
