Fifteen Bells competed in the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Salt Lake City June 12-17. Graduating seniors Vinay Ayappan and Ani Prabhu continued to excel in their specialty of Policy Debate, placing second in that event.

"This was the first time since 2006 that a Bellarmine team advanced to the finals in Policy Debate," said coach DeeDee Sullivan. "Ani and Vinay are very, very good, so there is no shame in this loss. And still, making it to the final round is a remarkable achievement in itself. Congratulations to them, as well as their coaches Aaron Langerman and Hoon Ko - the heart and sould behind Ani and Vinay's performance all year."
