Can You Help? Cafeteria Register Volunteers Needed

Posted: August 21, 2017

We are looking for parents – moms or dads - who would be interested in volunteering in the cafeteria running a register. This requires using a UPC scanner to check out the boys’ purchases. We have made it very easy to learn and will not leave you alone on a register until you are comfortable. You will be surprised how simple it is and how much FUN you’ll have.

We want to meet the needs of our students and keep them supplied with healthy, freshly-made food, and having multiple lines available for check-out is important in making that happen. Last spring, we opened a catering truck outside of the Student Life Center, which gives our students a second location for getting lunch, but this alone isn’t enough; we need parent volunteers to help get students through the line so they can get to their club meetings or other lunchtime activities.

We have a number of moms already volunteering in this capacity and they enjoy interacting with the boys. However, we are looking for additional volunteers to sign-up for a 3.5 hour shift once a week (4 days a month). If you cannot commit to a weekly shift, we can accommodate you twice a month.

The cafeteria shift schedule is online. It is for 4 weeks, with the option of 2 shifts per day. We can use 2 to 3 moms per shift. Look at the schedule and sign up here. Our lunch shifts are the most important.

If you sign up, please also email me so we can set up times for you to come in and train.

We are excited to get you started. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

THANK YOU in advance!
