  • Tijuana, Mexico Immersion Trip

The Tijuana Immersion Trip, offered during Spring Break to Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students, is one of the most popular experiences each year in the Immersion Program. The Bellarmine Community in conjunction with Amor Ministries has been building homes in Tijuana since 1993. This trip appeals to those individuals who want to "do something" for those who are less fortunate. The poverty is Tijuana is striking and pervasive. Our students travel by bus and van to the border at Tijuana and see first hand the conditions of the country side near the United States-Mexico border. In preparation for the trip the students try examine and get a sense for the nature of the poverty that effects this border region so close to the wealth of the United States.
