Computer Science
The purpose of the Computer Science Department at Bellarmine is to provide all students with the tools they will need to succeed at Bellarmine, in college, and in life after college. Since Computer Science is an entirely elective department, much of the specific education that is deemed necessary will be accomplished through other departments.
Within the offerings of the Department, the purpose is to provide students with a variety of areas of interest to pursue, ranging from programming to design, from software applications to working with networks. More than just developing young men who are competent in these disciplines, the larger goal of the department is to help students to be discerning, compassionate learners of these new technologies, who will use their abilities to help make themselves and their surround communities more aware, loving, and just members of the global community.
