One of the greatest assets that Bellarmine offers is a tremendously dedicated and talented faculty. Bellarmine currently employs 85 full and part-time faculty members, as well as 12 administrators and program directors who work part or full-time in the administration of the school. These men and women bring a strong knowledge of and commitment to Jesuit education, and are themselves very well educated, with nearly 70% possessing some form of advanced degree, including four with a Doctorate.
Employees at Bellarmine find working the school to be a tremendously rewarding experience, as they have the opportunity to work with colleagues who share their commitment to helping to form “men for others.” The close-knit faculty shares together in professional and spiritual development, and enjoys a good deal of collaboration in academic work. Teachers also enjoy teaching students who are serious about their work in the classroom. All Bellarmine graduates go on to college, many to some of the finest colleges around the country. Teachers also enjoy working with manageable class sizes, which average 25 students, and a very supportive and involved parent community. Bellarmine’s salary and benefits package is among the best of any school in the area, providing employees with the opportunity to make a career of teaching in this expensive area.
The hiring season for Bellarmine is typically March and April, with employment each year commencing around August 15. During the interview process, applicants are initially narrowed down by a paper-screening process. For faculty positions, an initial interview takes place with the Assistant Principals and Department Chair. Finalists are interviewed by the Principal, who makes the final determination relative to hiring.
